How I started my data science journey
Everything you need to know to get started
The first days of my python machine learning journey were really imitating how we don’t see the results of the pure effort. Not very long after those desperate days, I was able to enlighten from my previous mistakes
Steps I took to get started
Firstly, as I am also a believer in growth mindset, I know I could break my potential by compounding the daily results. Therefore, I decided to take up machine learning aka data science since it was my ambition. I researched online about what do I need to get started. While I was surfing through the web, I found out a Youtube video by mrdbourke, which essentially was steps for machine learning journey. Just as I clicked on the thumbnail, I notice that machine learning was done by a lot of individuals already but it is really hard to kick off and eventually succeed in releasing your first data model. However, because I am a firm believer in growth mindset, I was desperate to not take aback from hardship of learning machine learning.
Disclaimer: the steps I displayed below may include from the description of mrdbourke youtube video:
Even though I decided to go along with this curriculum, as I had already started before I watched this video, I skipped step 1 and learned python and data science tools as I desired. Moreover, I am currently at step 2 and I will post my future progress as I progress through this curriculum.
These steps are the steps I have take up so far.
Step 1 - Learn Python, data science tools and machine learning concepts
I watched corey schafer anaconda tutorial and download anaconda and tried out some of its features. However, I would recommend you to take up only the first 2 steps for the step 1.
Step 2 - Learn data manipulation, analysis and visualization with pandas, NumPy and Matplotlib
Because I am step 2, I am currently working on the course 2 of this specialization. I do really think this specialization covers up everything you need for step 2. If you still don’t feel confident enough with this material, I think you should check out mrdbourke ‘s video to understand even better.
Summary
This is all I have for now! Stay tune for next updates for the future progress.
